New York-based designer Willy Chavarria has unveiled a new collaboration with Adidas Originals at his Spring/Summer 2025 runway show. This partnership, described as an organic union born from mutual inspiration, features 22 looks that challenge traditional sportswear norms. A highlight of the collection is the updated Adidas Jabbar sneaker, originally created for basketball legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar in 1978. Chavarria expressed pride in aligning with Jabbar's legacy, emphasizing the cultural impact of his achievements both on and off the court.

In addition to the Adidas collaboration, Chavarria introduced a new partnership with Allen Edmonds, featuring a split-toe derby oxford with a 54mm Cuban heel. This shoe, crafted in classic black box calf leather, aims to blend classic design with modern formality and gender fluidity. Chavarria envisions the shoe as versatile, suitable for both casual and formal attire.

The show, titled "América," celebrated the legacy of a nation built on dreams and resilience, highlighting diversity, beauty, and community within fashion. The event featured three runway movements: Fine Fashions, Willy Produce, and Community Center, each showcasing innovative designs in Italian cotton sportswear. The show opened with a performance by Latin Grammy-nominated artists Yahritza Y Su Esencia, who wore pieces from the new collection.

Chavarria's work continues to push boundaries, blending traditional elements with contemporary design to create a unique and forward-looking fashion narrative.

Celebrities like Martin Scorsese and LaKeith Stanfield front the campaign.
